I am a fulltime student that was in a serious car accident involving drinking and driving. I went through the windshield of my car and was hospitalized for days. Though, I do not remember the accident I know that I hit a parked pick up truck that nobody was in. Thank God. While in the hospital I incurred a $25,000 medical bill. Ultimately I lost my job. The medical bill has now been paid off which is a huge relief. However, I am struggling right now with paying my utilities and property taxes for my home. Since my accident I have underwent intensive alcohol treatment. I went to completed a counseling program, alcohol monitoring bracelet for 11 months and attend 2 to five AA meetings weekly. It's been a long and rough road but feel like I have finally began to live again. I have a sobriety date of April 6 2010. My accident was a spiritual reawakening, my calling that enough is enough. I write most of my school essays and speeches about alcoholism, drinking and driving and the effects and consequences of drinking and driving. I know that my audiences have learned much about the effects of alcohol and pay full attention when I speak of it. It seems that my essays and speeches bring a letter grade A and standing ovations. for the past year I have devoted my time outside of class to learning to live without alcohol and to help anybody along my way. I do intend on applying for a student job at the university in after April 6 once I achieve my 1 year sobriety anniversary. I am struggling though and know that it will take me time to catch up. My main concern is my gas, water and property tax bill which are all over due. They total $1,780. I have never asked for help and always helped others in every way that I could. Here is what CNN's Christine Romans suggests to do in order to come up with $500 by Christmas: Stop paying for things you don't use or need right now, check your mobile plan, eat in, make list of things you routinely spend on and cut % of them..., the full list is here

Okay maybe this is not as helpful as it should be or maybe u dont realize but here it is...

 Dont buy new clothes every week. (yes its cute but u dont really need it)

• it will also save time (less items = less time choosing outfits

• it will save money on doing that extra laundry

Dont get your nails done

• you can always go to the dollar store and buy press ons if you do it right they look just as good.
• Again u save time because it only takes about 10 mins to get it perfect

Dont get ur hair did

• Going to a community college cosmotogly class will do your hair for really cheap or free
• this includes facials too

If you have a car you dont always have to use it

• If its close enough to walk then do it.
  
• you save gas and you gain energy and loose weight
• if its a little far and ur not pressed for time take the bus its cheaper 

Buy off brands

• They normally taste or work the same
• a lot of name brands are the same company as the off brand
• you can save a lot and use those cupons when its a good deal

Shop online

• If you know what you want and your not pressed for time shopping online is cheaper most of the time.  a lot of times theyre tax free

1) Cut your Cell Phone Bill. Many people are switching to prepaid types of phones, which is an immediate way to start saving money on your cell phone bill. The reason it's easier to save is because you buy minutes as you go, so when you have used all of your minutes, you have to buy a new card or a refill and add more talk time to your phone.

2) Make your own coffee. If you have a coffeemaker, it makes sense to make coffee at home instead of hitting Starbucks for a latte.

3) Cancel Your Cable/Satellite. This will probably cause a knee-jerk reaction with many people, but you can save a lot of money if you cancel your cable.

4) Borders Book Store or the Library? Are you a big reader? If you are, then Borders might be one of your favorite places to visit. Borders is cool because you can go there and read books and magazine while you enjoy coffee. But you don't have to buy anything: you can just browse.

5) Get a Roommate. This might not be possible for people, especially those with one bedroom or families, but if you are paying full rent on an apartment or home, maybe it's time to look for a roommate.

6) Return Stuff. If you bought something three months ago that's still in the box or that you haven't worn, chances are you're not going to use of wear it any time in the near future. Take it back and get money in return. Even if you don't have the receipt any longer. Return it!

7) Get rid of your credit cards. Credit card companies do a lot of things to make it seem like your getting a great deal. With interest rate now, you dont really know what you paying for anymore.

8) Conserve your gas. If you live close to other family members start car pooling. Don't you always seem to see a family member while running errands.

We are a family of four my husband me and my son and daughter. We both work full time jobs and are scraping by. I am posting because I want my horse back. I had traded her to someone who said they could train her and make her a happy and well behaved horse. They told me the horse whose name is Apple they traded me was kid broke and would be safe for us to ride I thought that it sounded like a win win situation. My horses name was True and I love her so much. Recently we called these people we had been dealing with and they missed their horse as much as I missed mine so we decided we were going to trade back. After about a month I finally reached them again and they told me that True had went through a fence and sliced her leg straight through the thigh down to the bone and that she would be lame for the rest of her life. so they figured it wouldn't by fair to trade back. I went through agony and cried for days for True and the pain I couldn't bare to hear she went through. We told the people who have her that when she heals and they decided what they wanted to do that I wanted her back even if I had to buy her. They agreed two months later I got a call from another lady even farther across the state from us say she had my horse and didn't want her. She said that she traded two horses for her from the lady who got her from us. She said that True was wild and had obviously been seriously abused. She also said that that lady had told her that True was completely DEAD broke. She She also told us that True had never had her leg cut. These two women know eachother rather well from the way it sounds. This lady told me that Apple was never broke and that when she was sat on she bucked. I was completely flabberghasted I couldn't believe someone would do this to me it hurt think that True was injured and then to hear she was abused. Luckily I had never put my children on this horses back by the way they always rode on True. Unfortunatly for me I ahd already attempted to ride Apple and had been thrown it took me two weeks to heal enought to function properly. So as it stands I just want my horse back I love and miss her. This lady who now has her wants 600 dollars for her and she is six hours away. I think I would need 1000 dollars to buy her and help pay for gas. She said if I don't come up with the money by the end of the month shes going to take her to a sale (she refuses to tell me where) horses are selling really cheap at sales and people are buying them and taking them to Mexico for butcher!!! There is a lady that lives in this community that had a job at a company which she worked at for over 21 years. It was factory work and the company went belly up so she had to make a decesion to either find her another job or go back to school so she decided to take the school route. Because the number of jobs here are so scarce but what she draws a month does not even cover a portion of her bills and i am not talking about things she doesnt need, I am talking just the basics, now all of her bills are so far behind she is on the edge of loosing everything she owns. This lady has always been a hard worker and a very giving person to her kids and everyone she knew. No one ever went to this ladys house hungry and left that way. If someone needed something she would always go no matter if was a friend of a friend of a friend that ask her to do something and she didnt even know the person. She would also have a fit if she knew this was being posted, she doesnt ask anybody for anything but if  theres any possible way  any one out there can help it would be greatly appriciated before her house gets foreclosed on.... pennies add up.... I really hope we can save this womans house its not a very big house but it is the ladys home. if anyone could help with donations it would be really appriciated
